Queen Mary University
Topping out ceremony held for £40m Graduate Centre
The Queen Mary University of London’s Graduate Centre has recently topped out as construction progresses on schedule.
Over 11,500 British, European and International students study in four faculties making this project essential to ensure the demand of students is met and propel the university to within the top ten in the UK. ECE Director, Craig Boddington says:
“The development will provide a world-class study facility for an internationally recognised university, promoting their competitive edge within the institutional field.”
Incorporated into the design is the relocation of the School of Economics and Finance bringing various facilities to improve social, teaching and staff accommodation in addition to a 200 seat lecture theatre and café. The design adds to the educational environment whilst responding to the Grade II listed People’s Palace.
The scheme also includes a Combined Heat and Power plant, contributing to the College’s Carbon Reduction Strategy, serving various buildings on campus achieving optimal running efficiency.
