Added Value:
- We were responsive to changes requested by the client, either in the design or revisions to the specification, through the value engineering process or swift response to changes in the construction environment. For example a change in the planning module from 1500mm double glazed unit to 1200mm units that were triple glazed, heavier and hence had to be reduced in size. This was part of an overall instruction to improve the thermal envelope so that development could be all electric i.e. no gas supply.
ECE are working with Berkeley Homes on the development of a large-scale mixed-use project in Staines upon Thames. The scheme comprises of 489 homes with private amenity spaces. The client’s aim is for this project is to extend the vibrancy of the high street and mark the arrival into the town for any visitors or residents.
The site has been vacant for a decade and sits on one of the main routes into Staines. It was previously occupied by the British Gas Centrica HQ building.
White stone bands and bronze panelling have been used as the primary materials, cut with a geometric pattern to reference the Manufacturing history of Staines.
